HI,Please help me with my eurovox ex5100 channels scrambled.

Hi everyone,south Ireland here. I recently bought the Eurovox ex 5100 but i only have a few channels which i assume are FTA and I was hoping someone here could help me unlock the scrambled channels.
I got the null cable with the box,I know i have to download firmware but i dont know exactly what to do so if could someone please point me in the right direction?thank you.

If you live in southern Ireland, you won't get the movie or sports channels on a eurovox at the moment.

How recently is recently bought it? Maybe they will take it back.

just two days ago,i actually have setanta right now and rte and some music channels.when will the movies be back on eurovox.

Because the encryption method changed to nagra 2 a few months ago, and the only boxes that have brought out a fix so far are Itgate (all models), kryptview and starview 4.

You can still flash the eurovox and you will get some of the channels allright, just you won't get the sports, movies or pron. And all the other channels will gradually migrate to n2, so in a couple of months you might just have the FTA.

I am not recommending you to buy any of the other boxes here, nobody knows how long they will be on n2 before they move to n3, which has never been cracked. Could be the end of the summer, could be next year.

Well the thing to do if you just bought it is see if they will take it back. If not, try and sell it to somebody in the UK, they can still use them.

And then with the money you could get an sv4, or an Itgate, or a kryptview.

It's a matter of personal choice. Personally I have an Itgate, which is a bit more expensive than the other two, but the Itgate is a linux based box which people reckon might be more likely to be able to handle nagra 3, if and this is a big if, it ever gets hacked. You can also buy a satellite tuner for some of the Itgate models, and could convert to watching sat tv if n3 comes out. You would have to buy a satellite dish etc as well of course, but wouldn't need a new box.

The kryptview and sv4 are around ?90 sterling each, the kryptview was first out with the fix, which is a couple of months ago now, and starview 4 fix only came out a few days ago.

Read around the forums, get other people's opinions on the different boxes and then choose one for yourself. That's the best way to do it.
