EX7000 Firmware

Just wondering if there is ever going to be a bug fix firmware update for this box, im running the latest atm which is march 09 and the problems with the favourites and channel editor are just plain annoying. Surely it shouldnt take so long to fix this bug the box has been out ages :S

well at least theres a fix on the way thats good news. when on the favourites manager the controls are backwards, things somehow get duplicated, renaming a channel name with the remote is impossible but im not the only one with these faults

Don't know if this is right thread to put this on. I was having problems with the channels on my ex7000hd bbc hd sly sport news box office and few others not coming on so I bought a new more expensive(?12.99) hdmi cable the one before that was of fleebay for about ?4 and now those channels are loading up no problem. Just thought I'd let you know because I was bagging my head with frustration with certain channels not loading.

It doesnt matter if the HDMI cable costs ?150 like the ones in currys, they will be no better than one for 99p off the market as the cable is digital.

i dont agree with that, better cables give better quality.

i had a cheap cable and i could see ghosting in the background, bout an expensive one and it went, so the quality of cable does make a difference

yes I read all the reports on hdmi cables guess what I bought one for ?4 it worked but after about 3 months it did'nt pick up certain channels in 1080i format ok in 576p format. That tells me it does matter a 12 quid one will be better than a fleebay ?4 one

This is a never ending argument tbh because people think of hdmi too much like scart where quality of pins and connections actually matter to the quality of the picture, but the truth behind hdmi is that works by using binary system of 1 or 0 or in english on or off, so it will either work or it wont work without affecting the picture quality. Ive tried many different hdmi cables and found that the only real benefit from paying more money for hdmi is for the physical build of the cable and a fancy logo saying monster or something. Tech spec wise any will do and thats the point I was trying to make.

This thread was supposed to be about EX7000 HD firmware updates anyway not a hdmi discussion :P Anyone else have problems using the channel editor software for this box on the pc. Whenver I edit my channel names they all appear fine then as soon as I upload it to the box I get the first channel frequency worth and channels and thats it:S

Should be sky sports, movies, one not sure what else. Those people who sell virgin hd in shopping malls are useful at times. The bloke did give me a leaflet with what they offer now and a coming soon section but i think i threw it away.

Actually im sure the guy mentioned something about skys times to have the hd channels to themselves is up and sky have agreed with cable that they get some aswell. So hopefully it may be a lot more channels than we think. Just have to wait and see

They told me that 2 years ago.........still we are waiting!

Recently they said April, then they changed it to June, Now it's September. They didn't mention what decade they meant did they, by any chance?
