Max V Quirky Channels, Ride the storm???

Hi, Max V, Re-set to default, loaded firmware, re-set to default, scanned, I have done this several times with different files and different types of scans, some channels are still quirky, tried changing frequencies and emm enabled and disabled, has any one got any more idea's, is this sort of thing happening to others or is my tuner on its way out.

    All comments gratefully excepted.:hmmmmhttp://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/hmmmm2.gif2:

this is the firmware you need Digital Kaos - Downloads - Eurovox Max V UFL Firmware (30/11/08)

scan directly off the feed ie no splitters etc.
if your pictures are still pixelated check a couple of the quirky channels (press the info button twice on the remote) and see what signal strength and quality you are getting

Tanks for you're reply, I have not had chance to try that firmware, ( will do it later today) but have other files with the same date that I have tried. No splitters fitted, not even the standard one. When it pixelates and crackles the signal is still the same 85%, one of the worst channels is Itv.

your signal is bordering on the too high side and could be your problem (have you put the 8% firmware on your box)

Are the problem channels on the same transponder, (frequency)?

No I've not used the 8% file. but I have removed the standard splitter from the main socket, could this cause the problem.

No, the channels are not on the same transponder.

Remove the splitter and plug it into the main feed, see if this improves the bad channel reception. If its still the same, try another scan and if it then improves, replace the splitter.

Sorry I now see you said that you had in fact removed it. Please try it with it back on as it may be a tap or isolator as opposed to a standard splitter.

Thanks satsmo, you were spot on, it obviously was not a standard splitter, replaced it and all is ok, I suppose this sounds mad to you but I removed it months ago but had no problems until the recent freq changes and the re-scan. Thanks again satsmo and smoggy for you're replies and help.
