make sure hard drive is inserted properly first mate. theres been a few issues with the recording abilities of this box as you will see if you look through the threads for your box. i find mine works best if i leave a recorded programme on the hard drive at all times.

ok it sounds like a seagate 120gb and that should be ok. first switch off the box from the switch at the back and remove the hard drive. now re insert the drive with brass pins facing into the slot and the writing on the label facing upwards. be sure to push it in hard trust me it is the right way up. once you are sure it cannot go in any further switch the box back on and wait a few minutes. try recording a couple of minutes of footage on a channel but be aware it may take up to 5 minutes to actually start recording so give it time. once it starts to record let it continue for about 5 mins then stop recording. you can access the drive by pressing the pvr button. now play it back and keep it on your drive forever its only five minutes. when you record in the future it will start to record in a few seconds. lets know how you get on.
