    Eurovox 1000sl scanning channels

    Hi Guys,
Can you please assist. Whenever I need to update my 1000sl due to a channel going off etc I have to keep putting the channels back in the order I want them. It drives me nuts. Im sure there's a way I can just rescan the box like I used to with my old Eurovox and the channels stay in the order I had previously put them in. I flashed the box when I first got it to get all the channels which worked, but everytime I have to do a rescan all the channels are all out of order. Do I have to reflash it, and if so what do I do to keep the channels in the order I want whenever I do the odd scan. Many thanks in advance as I know you clever little devils will know the answer

you need to turn the fav sort off
or put the nosort firmware on your box which has it permanently disabled

Thanks smoggy, will try that and let you know what happens. Do I not need to reflash it then. Thought I read somewhere a while ago I might need to put it back to factory default and reflash it etc?? Im not very PC literate so the less I need to do to the box the happier I am

I think you have the autosort firmware on your box so you should be able to turn fav sort off in the menu before you update
this is how on a max v yours should be very similar

        Menu/instalation/fast install
        press red button
scroll down to fav sort and turn it off
then press exit (do not press OK) if you press OK all channel order will get sorted back to the default order.

Hi Its me again. I tried to do what you suggested smoggy, but after pressing fast install and the red button the tv screen went blank for about 10 seconds then just went back to the list of channels. I couldn't see anything anywhere that said 'favourite sort' to be able to turn it off. Where would the 'turn it off be' if the favourite sort was somewhere??
Any ideas. Many thanks in advance

look in powerscan should be the last one on the list turn off then press exit not ok as smoggy as already said.also have you got a backup of your channel order you can make one by using firmware loader. connect box to pc open loader and press upload you will have to choose a name and location to save.

I'm not sure which firmware you have on your box but there are two versions of the ex1000sl firmware both dated 24/02/09
one is nosort the other is autosort
nosort has the fav sort permanently disabled the other has the option to disable it if you want to.

on a max v its (yours could be slightly different)
Go into Menu / Installation / Fast Install and press OK (enter pin)
Now press the red button on the remote for advanced install
Scroll down the options and turn Fav Sort off
then press exit (do not press OK) if you press OK all channel order will get sorted back to the default order
