instaling broken cabel to ex5001

hi im new to this site, the problrm i have is that my cabel lead that runs in the liveing room got cut, now is their a way of conecting the cabel or do i have to get a new cabel that has to be conected to the cabel box out side

twist on f connector to each end of the cut cable connected to a barrel connector

alright mate if you pop down to b and q you can buy a joining kit for about 3 quid. it contains 2 f connecters and a barrel to join the two f connecters together. snip your 2 cable ends back about 5mm and then stanley knife through the outer insulation to expose the copper braid wires cut back about 1.5 cm. now peel back the copper braid al the way back till its level with the outer insulation again and twist the braid together agian so its all in one line. you should have a length of inner insulation left so stanley this back also about 1 cm, inside is a single copper cable. now twist the f connecter on until the single wire sticks out about 5mm. do this to both cable ends then join them together with the barell. they only need to be finger tight. hope this helps you mate.
