new channels and ppv events

when a new channel comes to vm such as espn(new football channel) how do i go about getting it? just scan or start again? with the insructions that came with it(not the manual ones!)

also the khan fight is on in a few weeks, will the channel just come on or do i have to re-scan??

sorry 4 being a newbie?

you would be best advised to remove all existing channels and rescan the box with a deep scan, this will find all available channels at the time.

Doing a deep scan will mess all your favorites up
just do a update channel scan (red button) then check the tvch1,tvch2.etc channels for the boxing channel i think there is a movie on at the moment madagascar or somthing similar.

hi fergal updating channel scan does nothing here up in glasgow. during the recent vm moving channels about the only way to get them back was deep scan. what do you think mate.

If the channels were there but not clearing try manually deleting the non working ones then do a update channel scan i know doing this worked in cw land.

not sure if my contact is correct or not but he works for said well known media company that after a 6 month investigation into new forms of encryption that none of the media boxes that are currently being used my said meadia company customers would be able to recive a new coding therefore making it in excess of ?4.5m to replace all existing media boxes therefore making it to expensive to change any or some types of encryption, he might be wrong but was part of the investigation team so we will see what happens.
the other thing that he did mention was that for about the last year said media company has had the right to show all HD content for movies and sport and other channels but it does not have bandwidth available untill analoge switch off
