Ok, try flashing it with the Hard Drive out, and then do a factory reset.

Unplug the Eurovox from the mains, put the Hard Drive in, turn it back on, do another factory reset, then powerscan.

See how you get on then post back

they work better if you always keep a five minute recording stored constantly on the drive, also when you record for the first time they can take a few minutes to start actually recording.

Ruudvandan & Johnboy 1974 I Have followed your intructions to the letter and my ex5100 will not record. I've had the message Error "Hard Drive full or not installed"

Regarding leaving 5mins on the Hard Drive it would be a luxury to leave 1minute. Thanks again Guys

go into system settings and do a factory reset on your box the codes 0000. reinstal the latest firmware from the site whilst leaving the hard drive out.
rescan the box and get channels up and running. turn off the box and now insert the hard drive with brass pins facing forward and writing on hard drive label facing up, push it in as far as it will go. turn on the box wait a few minutes and try to record but bear in mind it might take up to 5 mins.leave the 5 recording on the drive always.

johnboy 1974 I have just Done all of that from Ruudvandan and from what I see they are identical but if you want me to do it again I will. I have brought a Seagate Momentus 100gb which falls with in the specficatuion of ex5100.
                  Thanks again.

Hi johnboy 1974. have done what you ask, it makes no differance. On using epg; daily mode it comes up wth the message " No recording to play or Hard Drive not installed" Help.

sorry nyge can't offer anymore of my own know-how than I already have. Try looking in older threads to see if anybody has had the same problem and srted it.

alright mate the only further advice i can give is to try backdating to an older firmware see if it works on that but i suppose it could be a fault with the hard drive itself, you could see if your supplier would swap it. i use a seagate 120gb drive in my eurovox ex 5000pvr and it works fine with the instructions i gave you. good luck and let the forum know if you find a solution, pass on the knowledge.
