    eurovox 5100 pvr hard drive doesn't work

    Set up my new box last week and works fine, but the westerndigital HD I ordered with it doesnt work. I briefly tried it twice to make sure it was OK before the box was flashed (the 1st time it worked but 2nd time it didn't). I've since tried it and it still comes up with the 'Error disk not installed or full' message.

    I've looked at other similar threads and tried all the suggestions - rebooting, re-scanning etc - but still no joy. Can anyone help? Could the HD be faulty?

    The Westerndigital HD has always caused problems as it is not 100% compatible with your receiver. The Seagate Momentus is the best for your box.
    Switch off the box and pull the HD out and check the pins and the black plastic clips on each side, make sure they are ok.
    Then slowly insert the HD until it touches the back and push in tight, you should hear a click as it locks in.(you have to push in tight and lock it in)
    Listen carefuly and switch box on, you should hear the HD start to spin.(if not its no good)
    The "hd full" message always shows when there is nothing recorded on the HD.
    Try that m8, if not contact your supplier and exchange the HD for a Seagate.
