    ex1000 sl jtag problem

    Hi,
i puchased a ex1000sl and downloaded the ufl onto it.Then after 5 mins the box went completely off. i checked the fuse and that was ok, ( no light coming on the box). i looked around the forums and it looks likes it needed jtagging. I tried to jtag it last night using skymax2 and i got this error

    init : JTAG

    IDCODE : FFFFFFFF

Fail DCU : Please restart or reset CPU Box

Now i am stuck, i dont know what else i can do. Any advise would be much appreciated

Also i got it checked over by a repair shop and they said it is powering ok to the cpu.

    Thanks

In jkeys preferences (Click file Tab) select parallel port and 0X378.

            Hi,
I have done that, and still nothing.

Do you think it could be the cables?

I am using a parallel entension cable with a jtag i brought from jtags4all

Can you try it without the parallel cable? I usually use the one from TMC the ones from jtags4all I have had trouble with. Is it the one with a DB25 black shell and a ribbon assembly?

BTW have you got a working 1000sl TSOP/bootloader?

i will try it now without the extension cable, and yes it is the one with the black shell and ribbon cable.
I do have a working 1000sl box, but i don't know how to get the TSOP/Bootloader info

You can read it with jkeys from the working box. It will also give you a chance to see if the jtag is working.

This is the link Tailor-Made Circuits but try it on your working box first as you said.

You basically need to copy the working bootloader from the TSOP of the working box. You can do this with Jkeys just read it, do not write or erase to it.

Then transfer the working file to the dead box via the jtag and jkeys.

Here is a good guide Jkeys_2_9_11_Instructions The instructions are based on a full Jtag which you have to do on the dead box.

To take the bootloader from the working box just read it and save it with jkeys as I said above.
