You will need 1 USB to serial adaptor and 1 serial 9-pin null-modem cable.

Managed to get one from ebay usb to RS232 (9 pin) will wiat for that and try down load

I need more help...Please anyone. how do I open the edit page for the Nagra Code on the EX5100? I have tried pressing yellow on the menu page without success

Thats how it opens m8, menu then yellow button.
Can u not update the softwa*e?

thanks for your reply, Affraid not..I am waiting for the cable to come to be able to connect the laptop to the Eurovox..strange how the page will not open when I press yello button when on the menu page though

just had a thought...I have already tuned channels in (what I can anyway) should I start again and press yellow or should that not make any difference?

If u have not updated the softwa*e and the co*es, u should still have the "free to air" softwa*e on the box. When u do a scan, this should still pick up the free channels(BBC, ITV,...)
Are u getting the free channels?

Ok m8, start again. do the following:
Menu>config>clear data>ok>0000>erase all channels>ok>ok.
Factory defaut>ok>erase all recordings>ok>ok.
Then switch power off box for a few minutes. Power on and scan for channels again.
Am assuming the remote control is working on all other functions.

OK done all that...now scanning for channels will come bac to u shortly when scan has completed

Hi Badapple scanning completed found a total of 348 channels although most are scrammbled. I have also triedto push yellow on the remote on the menu screen so I can add the N*L nnagra code to unscrammble....no luck. Any ideas how to go further?

i dont think the yellow btn will work untill you flash with latest firmware ,ie you cant put keys onto fta firmware ,then i could be wrong
