are you using null modem cable only or null with usb adaptor
have you tried different ports, you can use ports 1 to 4
have you tried redownloading the firmware( just in case it got corrupted)

Have you looked through the red stickies above? Are you sure you have the correct cable/cables required for flashing?

Did you check to see if you have a genuine or clone model? If you have done all this have you contacted your supplier as the box should be under warranty?

There are plenty of answers here and members willing to help out, if you ask in the right manner.

How about your supplier giving you a replacement, him saying its "weird" is not exactly customer support is it? Who was the supplier.

The Ex1000 is usually straight forward when flashing it.

I have seen some clone boxes with the same symptoms. What firmware version did you use?

Send it back as faulty and ask for a replacement. If you prefer a Starview 4 I am sure they will look after you if they provide decent after sales support, which I heard they did have for a while. Saying its "weird" as they said is not support.

Also make sure that you get a genuine model if you are asking for a Starview 4. A clone box will have a silver heatsink on the CPU.

as the lads say m8 you need to demand a replacement box or refund from your supplier,i have had the ex 1000 for over 12 months and never had a problem with it as have many other people .

in put the keys m8 to get it back on for now till you sort the flashing problem out at least the kids can watch cartoons then.
