    eurovox 5100 pvr

    Just bought the new box but cannot recieve all channels to view. Some are scrambled. New to this so looking for advise on where to start. Are there codes to input or software to download ???? Please help so I can start watching some films

      Judging by your name, I'm guessing you're in Ireland.

      Unfortunately, since a few months ago, NTL have upped their encryption to Nagra2 and the Eurovox doesn't have a fix for it yet.

      Most of the latest models from other brands do, however.

      If my assumption is wrong and you're not in Ireland and on NTL, you'll probably need to give more information on your situation so one of the more experienced members can try help you.

      ie. Country, cable provider etc

          hi forgive the intrusion but I have the same issue I am in main land UK NE england N*L is my provider. I can tune 358 channels with most of them scrammbled. I cannot open the NGRA screen when I press Yellow on the remote during the menu screen

              HMFIC you need to flash your box with this m8 Digital Kaos - Downloads - UFL_EX5100PVR_DarX_16-01-09 then do a rescan

                  Thanks Andy, I will try that when I am home next to se if it works. Is all I have to do is connect my laptop to the box with the 232 cable and it will find the port etc then just follow the instructions on screen, also approx how long does it take to flash the box?

                      Hi IO have the cable Serial > USB and when I click on the sftware for filmware it says there is no coms port available even though I have down loaded the driver for the cable...can anyone help?

                          Hi All an update on the problem I had. Yes it is solved. I have the RS232 cable which i connected to my laptop via a converter lead to USB. This was not recognised when I tried to down load the firmware. I got a guy to help who has an older Laptop which has a RS 232 connection direct..when connected the software worked perfrct now I get all channels with no issues at all.

                          I wouls still like to be able to get thne RS232 to USB working for future use if anyone has any ideas.
