EUROVOX EX5100 - Bad or No signal

Hi. Can anyone help? I had been using my box for about a week with no problem and now all of a sudden I can't get all the channels. The ones I do get have a bad signal so I can't really use the box at the moment.

I've tried all the suggestions on the forum (factory reset, deep scan) but it's not working. Does this mean I won't be able to use it again? Does anyone know what causes it and whether I can do anything about it?

Something wrong with your signal supply. Check the cable and remove any splitters.
Do u pay for your services, check to see it your line is still live.

Yes I pay for services and signal is fine as I've checked it through the supplied box. Any ideas?

I seem to have lost most of sports channels after scanning again and the channels I do get are bad signal.

Also make sure when u scan use the correct symbol rate for your area 6.887 or 6.952
A deep scan should pick up all the available channels.
If not, just to make sure the box is ok or not, if u can take the box to a different address who have cable tv and scan there.

Thanks for your suggestions. I've done all the above but still getting bad signal. Haven't had chance to try it anywhere else.

Do a factory reset before scanning again. And make sure you scan from the main feed, remove any splitters if you are using one.

I do a factory reset before scanning, but this doesn't work either.

I have been doing this a couple of times a day since I started having problems but still I get bad signal. will keep trying and just hope it will fix itself.

Try scanning from the same feed as your VM box.

                      Eurovox Bad Signal

Hello there, i have finally managed to sort the problem out.
I was going down the route that the signal was too week however i hve just brought an Attenuator from Maplins for ?8 which reduces the signal and it works fine now. VM must have increased the signal.
Just plug the Attenuator int the eurovox rf port and then plug the cable feed into tat.
Hope this works for you mate.

Hi. What's an Attenuator? Do you have a link to what I need?

No. the attenuator doesn't seem to work either.
I'm really fed up now!! I'm left with a hard drive that doesn't work inside a box that is redundant after only a full week of use.
Can anyone offer any help or have I thrown load of money down the drain!?
Excuse the rant - it's been a long day!

Then in that case you might have a weak signal and in need of a Signal booster? What is your % - in regards to strengh of the connection?
