Have just joined up, my eurovox max is dead the last few 4 or 5 months, thinking of getting a new BOX, i've heard the EX1000 sl is pretty good, could anybody tell me if this BOX works in Ireland and is it the best to buy. Thanks...

Sorry m8, no good now. ntl in Ireland have moved services to N3now so you cant use any of these secondary boxes.

Hello one and all,

i am trying to set up the EX 1000SL in Ireland i have done a full reset,flashed the box put in the 1968 code,saved it and done a deep scan, now like i say i am a total newbie so please excuse my lack of know how, its not finding anything and i got a no transponder message, i am not on N*Hell i just have a S*Y subscription, can anyone give me some advice or will this not work what am i doing wrong if anything.thanks

You have sky satellite? Sky have never been hacked, you need a cable connection for the eurovoxes, and ntl has gone to nagra3, so you're out of luck both ways.

What part of Ireland are you in? I wouldn't recommend getting cable as there is a new encryption method which means most cable boxes aren't working on the premium channels anymore.

There is a section here on satellite dishes, have a read around that.

Is that area with chorus cable, or mmds, or ntl or what?

i think it has chorus my neighbour has it and i think also ntl but i could not be certain of that, and excuse my ignorance i dont know what mmds is but i will google it and find out, i have done some reasearch and reading obvoiusly not enough eh,thanks for the help up to date though any input is appreciated i will do this but need to know which one i should go with thanks

Well if its chorus cable your box would work for the moment, if its chorus mmds it wouldnt. Either way its on borrowed time, so i wouldnt go buying another box.
