    Newbie in need of help..

Been browsing the forums for a few days, and have to say great work for the broad knowledge and help available here.

Personally I'm having problems with a few particular channels on my Eurovox EX5000 PVR. Zee TV, Zee Cinema etc give me a few error messages which seem to loop these are:

Scrambled Channel, No or Bad Signal, and Please wait while code is updated.

I purchased this box pre-flashed a few months ago and have had no problems. I understand that the system information on my box may be needed to troubleshoot this problem, this information is as follows:

    Model: DVB-XC EX5000 TDA
    S/W Ver: 1.0 ST4 Oct 28 2008
    H/W Ver: 2.0t K5 +D
    Bootstrap: v001
    S/W Build: Kuro

All advice is appreciated, hoping to get this sorted quite quickly.

    Zak.

    Hi there,

Looks like you'll have to update your firmware to the latest, here is a link, find your box and update, with the information in the sticky.

There is a newer, february firmware for your box

Thanks for the prompt reply crazyman, I don't have the cable to update the firmware yet. Is there not a temporary solution I can use? Such as entering a new code etc?

not sure what it should say in system information but if your box has been updating the codes anytime this year then your firmware is OK.
the symptoms you are having is because the channels have moved to different frequencies so you need to update your channels.
if you know what frequency those channels have moved too you can do an update of channels on that frequency but delete the bad ones first or you can do a factory default reset which will clear out all the garbage and then do a full scan

Tried that three times now mate, if anything I've lost the channels that were previously giving me errors.

what have you tried three times, factory reset or channel update.
when you scan have you scanned directly off your cable feed ie no splitters etc.

Both. I'm using the splitter the VM engineer installed years ago, one cable is going to my box and the other to my modem.

It is usually the splitters that cause the problems.
Remove the splitter and put the main incoming cable to the box.
Do clear data/factory reset and then do a deep scan, this should pick up any missing channels. U can then put the splitter back on.

Thanks for that, the signal was the problem even when my modem was idle.
