How Can I Tell its An EX1000SL Clone..?

hi there, can anybody tell me how i can identify a EX1000sl clone,

i dont think the new ireland fix is compatible with the clones,

No m8, dont use the new Irish fix on a clone, it will kill it.

Its quite difficult to find out for sure looking through the vents.
Try shining a bright torch through the vents to see into the box.
If u r still not sure, u will have to open the casing m8.
But that is entirely up to u.

A silver heatsink ,(square metallic block) on the CPU.

Dont know where it is, but on the mainboard there shouldnt be a heatsink there anyway. So if you dont have a silver heatsink on your board, you're fine

Ex1000 Clones from satandcable.co.uk?

Hi there, I just paid for 2 Eurovox ex1000sl boxes from satandcable.co.uk and they are due to arrive to me in Dublin next Tuesday. I have only just considered the possibility that these are in fact clone boxes that will not work with the new nagra 2 fix for Ireland. I emailed satandcable to ask them and tell them that if they are clones I will send them straight back. As its the weekend I have had no response from them yet. Does anyone now if these boxes are likely to be clones?

satandcable? They're known to sell clones under UK law you can send a product back within 14 days if the purchase wasnt face to face eg:internet,telephone etc... You then are entitled to a full refund.Postage cost does not have to be refunded and they dont have to refund any postal costs for you to send the item back.Bear in mind,thats UK law,not irish law

Thanks a million Waqasahmed. I think the law in Ireland is very similar, I must check it out for sure. It wiill be interesting to see what response I get from satandcable (I directly asked them in an email if the ex1000's were clones). So as it stands it looks like I will have to pay the postage costs back to satandcable but will get my money back. I actually ordered 5 of the damn things and not 2 as in my original post (typo). Postage cost back to Uk could be hefty enough. No way of returning them to sender via the same courrier I suppose? Hmmm just a thought...I guess not

I very much doubt if they'd allow you to use their contract courier unless your v. polite.Remember not to flash any software on them as they're sold with FTA channels on only. In the UK the law with regards to internet,telephone etc... is called the distance selling regulations.

Eurovox possible clones from satandcable

Just an update on the ex1000sl boxes ordered from satandcable. They are due to arrive tomorrow but I received an email from satandcable saying that the original manufacturers had stoped trading and these boxes were "Original Integra Receivers". Are Integra the new REAL deal? Or are they the clone makers? I'm confused! I guess i will know more when they arrive and if I see a silver heatsink thro the holes on top of the boxes then they will be clones. Any thoughts gratefully received.
