I have a null modem cabel and here is what i am attempting to do and the order i do things...
IM 100% i have the right cabels, here is what i do, step by step, see where im going wrong, i first put the extention on the null modem cable so 1 end is female 9pin and the other is converted to usb, i place the usb into my belkin usb2 7port thing, the pc is recognising the null modem as when i attach it, it says a prolific usb-to-serial comm port (com2) is attached in my computer manager. i then place the lead into the eurovox and plug the power in, i then turn the box to power on(red light), i know then i have to wait till ---- or 4 digits show, this is the problem, where do they show and how long does it take, i have no idea on this, so anyway, after a few minutes nothing happens so i put the box on standby then open (UFL_EX1000SL_09_DarX). i then press the top download box, then straight away another box opens and is titled Firmware download version 2.00, this has a start box at the bottom with a flashing com sign, the start button comes highlighted then, so i press, it then goes to another box stating the reciever was not detected... if you want to download the firmware in boot mode click ok button below and ac power on your reciever,also has an option as to which com port to choose, so i choose com2 as thats where my usb to seial is attached. Then it just says waiting for reciever to respond. This to me means all wires are ok but im just having trouble talking to the box......... sorry about the length of the message i just want you to understand what im doing and if im doing it wrong..
