    What box?

Hey there, new to the site.
    Ill keep it short.
    1) What box is best (i.e cheapest and reliable) (what make?)
    2) What extra equipment would be needed for that box?

For achieving all the channels over virgin media.

I have virgin media coming in (BB + TV M package)
    Also..
Can it pick up PPV TV?

Thank you Very much for reading.

If you are having a Virg*n Med*a line istalled then you'll just need one of the cable boxes(eurovox,kryptview,starview...)
You just remove the CC box and replace it with your own box.
PPV channels are available when an event is being played(boxing,wrestling...)You cannot order PPV movies!
The only other equiptment u may need is a booster if your signal is weak and a data cable for updating softwa*e.
Which box is best?...Thats your choice m8... have a look here to decide> Skywonder Ltd

              Help please

              Hi,
I am just looking for some ino on the EUROVOX EX5100 PVR. I have read various sits and forums and dont realy understand. I am having a Virgin cable box installed and intend to buy a eurovox. I read that this one records but it is not as simple as just recording is it?
Do I need to attach an external drive to this, it wont just simply record as a sky plus box will will it?
If so is there a particualr type. I have a portable Toshiba hard drive (250GB) but I had read some where it needed to be a laptop hard drive??
Also how easy is it to tune other channels, i know of some people that have managed to get some but not all or have lost some after a while.
Im not sure whether just a normal box without recording capabilities might be a beter option?
Any advice or comparisons you can give me would be appreciated as i dont really now much about these boxes.

              Thanks
              Colin

The EX5100PVR is a good box. The recording is simple enough but u cannot use it like the S*Y+ box. It will only record one channel at a time and because it has only one tuner, you cannot record one channel and watch another(unless on same frequency)
U will need an internal laptop type HDD. Seagate is best and don't buy anything over 120gb as this will not work.
Softwa*r update is simple enough(available on this site)and once successfuly updated with the latest softwa*e, you should be able to pick up all available channels in your area.
Doing the softwa*e update is no different than a standard non PVR box.

Looking at the site you sent me badapple,
                  also looking through other posts,

The StarView 4 looks a nice box,
                  Fairly Cheap.
Easy to install over the USB stick.
And easy to record (if i get a HDD).

What are your thoughts on that?

The starview 4 is a good all around box m8.
Nice looking box and easy to update and use.
Uses the external USB drive for recording.(i think 8gb and above is good for recording)
