ex5100 problem with scram channels

hi just got this as a new box downloaded ex5100vr darx 16 01 09 onto it
when i do a scan for channels i get channels but the ones i want are scrambled
i am in the uk on virmin
is there an emu to turn on?
help pls

the emm is enabled by default but check it by pressing menu language settings and type 1968 ps did you scan the right symbol rate

I had a similair issue with a friends SL1000 tried it 6.952 & 6.887, for love nor money would it work, ALL I did matey was to Go back to the Old Days and Manually input the Codes From Ke*M*****R and hey Presto It's up and running

thanks for the suggestions, i only picked up 11 channels so have set it to scan channels again and yes i scanned on 6887 which is what i used for my ex 5000

sorted but have another problem

i got the channels all sorted but now the picure keeps freezing
things i have tried....
changed scart lead
changed cable
changed splitter
checked the vm box not having any probs with picture etc on that box

also this box is my friends that i am trying to sort so i brought it up to my house connected it up and is working fine on my tv
please help
anything else i can try

could be a weak cable signal at your mates house. also when it scans it only gets close to the frequency the channels are on ie 240 when the channel is actually on 240.750. Try altering the freq that is being looked. I was having freezing problems with some channels and this sorted it.
