Pixelated Channels on ex1000sl

I have been searching around the forums for a while now, but with the new Premiership season now here my lack of watchable sports channels is of great concern. I have got some fantastic pictures on other channels (including some movies but not all) but sports stutter and squeal at me. I have followed all the advice on the forums. I have checked my cable, bought an attentuator (didn't work), bought a booster (didn't work), re-installed the firmware and performed a deep scan yet nothing has improved the situation. Last season this happened to a certain degree but now it is significantly worse. I am in Greater Manchester ex c&w. My signal reports 80% but flutuates.
Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

***Update***

I had checked that all my cables were secure and that the connections were good. What I couldn't check was the condition of the splitter. I have replaced the splitter, I now have a fantastic picture, clear signal and all channels. Marvellous!
