Think i was sold a clone

Hi guy's well after shopping about i decided i'd treat myself to a ex1000sl. looked up where to go for one (as i did'nt want a clone), arrived today looking nice in its box.

Hooked it up and have just tryed to download the latest software to it, boom power goes off on the box almost instantly and the download has been stuck at 32% for the last 10 mins .

Don't realy know where a stand with sending this box back, have i just losed my money or what .

it's to late to start messing with it now. any advice would be greatfully reviced. Will be back on in the moring.

    Thanks guvnor

Have u checked to see its a clone. Not too sure if they have clones of the SL1000. Check through the vents and look for a silver heatsink(silver square metal box)

Power off and remove all the cables and do a scan, if the original softwa*e is still on there, you will be able to pick up "free to air" channels, if so, you will be OK to return it.

Hi bad apple, i did have a quick look inside the machine (through the vents) but could not see anything inside it.

I could not get it to power up at all last night, not even the red stand by light, nothing. I've left it to standing unpluged and i'll try again when i get in from work tonight.

hope i can get this sorted or the missis is going to kill me for wasting ?80 in 2seconds .

If it is purchased from a reputable seller mate there should be no problem in returning it. Where did you get it from?

If the machine is not powering up, then its nothing that you are doing wrong. Have you checked the obvious, the fuse in the plug, make sure the power cable is ok and not damaged. If everything is ok, and still not powering up, then send it back m8.
