    Should i get a pvr 5100 or a 7000hd

I have had a look around and im fancying a pvr 5100 just to test it out and see how many channels it can get...then perhaps upgrade and get the 7000hd. Im wondering can you run 2 at once, multi room style? Any advise on good retailers, and any other issues i should be aware of? cheers

ive just upgraded to the ex 7000 hd you get around 280ish channels but only 5 in hd.. just watched ESPN HD liverpool v A villa and the picture quality was just beautiful..but i personally dont think this box is for the novice eurovoxer as when you come to update alll your channels they arent replaced in your favorites.grrrr...you have to save your channel tbn file to your usb stick before hand......
the box looks great...channels/ favorites dont turn over as fast as previous eurovoxs...
epg works fine as long as your not doing weeks in advance recording.....
i think its a great box but its ?100 more..isit worth it for 5 channels ?????????

I would still go for the ex7000 as it has better picture running through the HDMI than the ex5100 does through the SCART.

It does has its faults as shutty mentioned but I personally think it's better for a novice as it's far easier to update the firmware on the ex7000

But why is there such a lack of actual HD channels?

be careful how you wrod your complaint though. They'd know you were using a bent box if you complain about a lack of HD channels when you're not subsscribed to V+HD. Insinuate that you're "looking to upgrade" or something
