    EX7000HD

    Hi guys me again,

one day when i know what i'm doing i'll hopefully be able to help out some newbies in repayment for all the help you've given me so far!

Anywho... I received my box yesterday from Mycablebox they included a decent length HDMI and a 1GB USB pen drive which is helpfull!

What i want to ask though is, after reading the manual for the EX7000HD i realised that it obviously can't tell you how to set it up to get anything more than free to air channels.
Basically what i need to know is how to set it up - i understand the flashing element of it etc etc, but what i don't know is how to physically set it up.

Do i need the box virgin give me? or do i just run the cable straight into the EX7000HD then into the telly and completely ignore it?

Will be setting it up this weekend! Keep your fingers crossed!

    Thanks in advance guys

Hi m8 it's a good idea to use a splitter and keep your vm box live so it can send a signal back (talk back ) or vm might want to know why it suddenly stoped working
if i helped hit the thanks btn

      cheers for that advice chic,

where can i get a splitter from? Also Mycablebox sent me an attachment for a cable so it would fit into the rear of my eurovox, not sure what to do with that till i see the cable feed!?!

Is there anywhere that has a diagram on how to set it up by any luck?

      Thanks again

MontyB, If you use a splitter you will lose signal strength and you will not pick up all the channels. Just plug your cable into the EX7000 HD use the connector provided if needed and scan. Away you go.

you can get a splitter from a diy shop but make it's a good one the attachment you got is to screw into the f plug on the end of the cable then you put it into the rf in on the box but if you want you can put a normal push in plug on

What about, what chic said about the lack of communication between the virgin box and VM?
Will they not come round and question me about this?

Not always true that the signal will go. Also you can buy boosters.

As for the VM they shouldn't but it is advised to have your subbed box running as well. As mentioned above use a 2 way splitter and have both boxes running.

I have mines in separate rooms.

No. They don't know what your watching. They only know if its connected. They won't bother as long as they get the basic channel subscription. Don't worry.

If you want to use a splitter. Scan first to get all channels then go via the vm box,if you want.

I understand what you're saying Hob (i think) but if i don't use the Virgin box, there won't be any talk back saying it's connected will there? I've opted for the Virgin M+ TV package so not to rouse too much suspicion anyway.

                          Thanks in advance

Ive never had my VM box connected. But i do have a sky dish on my wall so if they ask.

I also have VM internet so maybe thats why nothing is being triggered.
