    EX1000SL Flashing problems...

Hi all, i'm new here. I have the 1000sl and i'm trying to flash it with the UFL v2.1 which i think is the correct one.

So, when I open the software and click the top download button it says "COM1..." and it blinks from time to time. I'm assuming its trying to connect with something or detect my box.

After a while nothing happens, so I clicked start, and it gives me a choice of COM ports and says that "The reciever was not detected..." and "If you want to download the firmware in the boot mode [im assuming this is when the box is on..] click OK button below and AC power on your reciever."

Then I clicked OK and powered up the box, where it remains as saying "Waiting for the response of your reciever"

Any ideas? Thanks in advance, John.

I've tried everything in the guide thread, I've still to try a different computer as i dont know if its something to do with the ports. Can't do that until tomorrow though.

its the com ports, normally it uses ports 1-4 so go into device manager on your pc and find ports (com&ltp) then look for the port your cable is plugged into double click on it then in the box that appears go to tab port settings look for advanced there you can change the com port number 1-4 which ever one that's not in use.

Okay, i had to do a system restore because i was messing around with the port settings. When I click download it now says "COM2..." so I'm assuming its connected to communications port 2?

No it hadn't, but I managed to use another PC and it worked fine. It was probably something to do with the drivers of the com ports, my pc is past its best to be honest, and I didnt have one of those usb adaptors for use with my laptop.

Thanks very much for the help
