eurovox max blue box

hello all,
i have a eurovox max 2006 box, it started playing up around 18 months ago so it been in the loft since!, got it out again recently and it scans and pics up the channels fine but does not show anything on the scree other than a message box saying ' please wait,code being updated...'. It is defo a blue box as i have had the lid off and checked it against the guide, if possible could someone please advise me on what i need to do to get it going again? Any help would be brilliant as downloading firmware and flashing is all new to me but i can follow instructions.

Thanks for the swift reply.....I read through the guide and bought a usb to serial converter to go with the cable i already had. It was a right pain in the arse to download the driver for it but it seems ok now and my laptop recognises it. I have download the eurovox prog and followed the instructions to the letter but all i get is a box with 'No available COM port...' it makes no difference when i turn the eurovox on and off. Is the pc meant to recognise the eurovox when its power is on? all it is seeing is the usb to serial converter.
i am rapidly getting hacked off with it now and any help or advice would be brilliant.

have u got a friend with a tower computer ? u can then use the com port with a null cable dead easy then.
