    Hi Guys
Daughter in Uni sharing a house with 3 others. I have purchased Virgin broadband , phone and Tv package ( Basic )

                  Eurovox

                  Hi Mate,

Every time you split the main cable the signal strengh will weaken. I suggest you take the main cable to your daughters room so she gets the full signal. Then you need to have a additional cable to be plugged into her friends room ( this way they will only be able to watch what your Daughter is watching.

If you have x2 EV then you should split the cable from main and have 1 going to your daughter and the other to her friends connected to each EV.

If you split the cable only once then there will not be much loss on signal, if its for internet connection for her friends have you considered WiFi connection.

                    Thanks for the reply Naz....
Hummmm well what i was thinking is having the main cable to her room to watch the TV with EV and a cable going to the living room with th VM box they are supplying, I am supposed to be having a wireless router so yer i will be connected to that with wireless. what sort of splitter and connector do i need
                    sorry about all the questions
                    cheers

You need either a 2 way or 3 way tv cable splitter, you should be able to get these from your local *omet store or even *bay, dont forget to also get the additional cable and adapters for the ends.

not sure if this link will work but here it is

2 Way Cable TV Splitter Kit Starview Dbox2 NTL Virgin on eBay (end time 15-Sep-09 18:32:12 BST)

You can get your cable and adapter from amaz*n and *bay. I think the cable is a f plug to f plug coax cable(which should say something like for sky/cable)and splitter will be two way or three way f splitter. If you get the cable from stores mentioned above you can check they are the correct ones yourself I guess.

Dont have knowledge on boosters although I have come across them on fleabay but I assume it goes before your splitter to strengthen the to be splitted signal strength

More cable length available on fleabay than amaz*n
20m for less than 10squids thats including delivery

                            Heres the cable leadsends
If you click on the link provided by NazStar you can see what the splitter looks like. The splitter would only have the tiniest little pin holes for these thin little wire pins to go through
