Starview USB vs. Eurovox USB // USB PVR vs. HDD PVR!

The Starview 4 or the new Eurovox USB PVR?
I'm really thinking of buying a new box since I currently have the Eurovox 5100 PVR! The HDD is just driving me insane!

That being said, which do you all prefer? USB PVR Recorders or HDD ones?

The STARVIEW 4 seems pretty good as a PVR - though it has a peculiar way of naming the files..... and will only let you rename up to 10 characters [spaces included in the count]

Also it uses it's own .TS format - which means they need converting before you can run them on your PC [Lots of free converters on the Internet - though the converting is a hassle.........]

Also the STARVIEW 4 will only write via USB to FAT 32 -- so if you write to a HDD greater than 32 gig, you'll have to use SWISSKNIFE to format it.......

There appears to be no limit to the size of the drive BTW, a very good friend writes to a 500 gig MAXTOR via usb from his STARVIEW 4 with no problems........

Apparently the EUROVOX ex1100 usb writes to .mpg files - that you can run on your Pc with ease.........

Hope these comments help your decision !
