Find a Pal with XP and a COM 1 port !! [Which corner of the Circular Globe do you live in??]

I updated the Firmware on my EUROVOX BLUE the other day -- and much to my suprise, it only took about 5 minutes

And here's a quick explanation of how to do it once your connected.......

Eurovox Max Blue UFL Firmware (30/11/08)

FILE NAME: UFL_MAX_BLUE_30_11_08.exe Available from the DOWNLOADS SECTION....

1.The Loader said "Version 1.0 Software detected [I was in!]

2.I clicked on download in the top half of the window.

3."If box has been flashed before do not remove power lead, just wait a moment and it will start downloading."

              4. The firmware should now be flashing to the box. (dnld) will appear flashing on the front display. the process takes a few minutes so be patient.

              5. Once flash has completed (0000) will appear on front of box.

              And that's it!

Good Luck with getting the connection !!

P.s. Are you absolutely CERTAIN that it's a NULL MODEM [crossover] RS232 Lead your using [An "ordinary" RS 232 lead will not do the Job!!]

Problems getting channels after power scan on eurovox max

Hi guys - i'm having real probs after trying to get some missing channels on my mates eurovox max. After starting a power scan with the correct frequency for his region and symbol rate (755.00 & 6.887) still not being able to get any channels back getting message 'channel not currently available' now i'm thinkin about re-flashing the box however not 100% whether it's a blue box or red (the box has neither colour on it!) however from satsmo's firmware thread it would look like a blue box and the tuner is visible from the top of the box for around 12 slots from the back right hand corner, however on system information - the description is " Model - DVB-XC Box STV, S/W Version 1.0 SSC4 Jun 01 2007, H/W 2.0"

                Can yod please help??

Essentially, i need to know - is it a max blue or red box, could it be a clone if it isn't a clone by downloading clone safe firmware and on an original box could this knacker the box? Sorry for going on a bit but i wanted the wise sages on here to have as much info to diagnose the problem

you can try both red and blue firmware only one will work the other will say this is not for your box as for it being a clone open it up if there is red paint on the screws and the wires are all jumbled up (ie not in a ribbon) then it will be a clone there's more but thay are the most obvious
if i helped hit the thanks btn

I've stolen this out of "how to spot a clone" to try and help... This is how I identified that my BLUE box was Genuine without lifting the Lid !!

Have you tried scanning on 6952 - the default ??

                    Good Luck!
