Hi all

Its nothing major - more annoying!

Basically ive noticed a slight "flicker" when watching any channel - ranges from once every 10-15mins and can cause a 1 second sound blip (but not every time).

Also noticed every time i move the cable wire going into the box the picture and sound start to distort until the cable is left alone - seems as though the picture distorts if the box/wire is moved - is this normal?

Hi m8,
my m8 had a similar problem, it turned out to be a loose connector where the signal wire goes onto the box. check the connector on the box for any movement also check the connector at the end of the cable as a screw on ones tend to become loose.

so if there is movement on the connector what should i do?

How did you fix yours?

"IF" the connector(s) on the box is loose, then you will have to open the box and re-solder the joint, that is what I did on a
Ex5000 and all is ok now.
But make sure its that problem before you open it.
If it is a loose connector, you could contact your supplyer first to see if he may exchange it as it a new box.

ok thanks - would a new wire sort the problem or should i just unplug the wire and re-connect?

Well that depends where the problem is. IF its a loose connector on the box then it will keep doing that every time it moves. IF the problem is at the cable end, then you could just change the cable or the connector.
But you need to find out where the problem is first, The box connector or the cable connector.

I unplugged the wire and took out the connector adapter, reattached the wire to the box and tightened and now seems to have fixed the problem.

Just one other point - does loud sound affect the picture quality of these boxes? as in does the box or wires need soundproofing?
