Basically, is there a way of controlling the Eurovox 700HD box from another room? I have an HDMI splitter sending the signal up to my bedroom. When I had sky, I used one of those magic eyes which worked treat.

Yes you need a power supply, but you can get a TV link which includes one. Nothing gets pluged into the Eurovox, but you stick a small IR emitter on the front, over the Eurovox's IR receiver.
