Eurovox max V - remote problems

    Hi all,

I am having problems with my Eurovox Max V remote control. It stopped working while on 'favorites' so i cannot access all channels manually on the box. I have changed the batteries - still faulty. I have taken remote apart - no obvious problems on the PCB. Could it be something on the box or do I need a new remote?

Can anyone recommend a retailer for a new remote?

I am tempted to buy a new box with record / pause function and then use Max V in another room. What Eurovox box would people recommend and who are reputable retailers? (I've read problems with clones!!)

    Cheers all

    Hi,

You can get a brand new replacement remote off ebay for about a fiver. Although you cannot buy the boxes remotes are plentiful I got a new one a few weeks ago. Try unplugging receiver it could be that box has froze and a restart will solve it.

Thanks mate- I've bought one (?1.99 + ?2.25 p+p next day). I tried unpluging all connections on the box but still no luck.

I will try this new remote.

      Thanks again.

P.S. I see you have the EX7000, how do you rate it to the max V? I am looking to buy another box - can you recommend a retailer? Thanks.

I got my ex7000 a few days ago and as I have stated previously it looks great on the HD channels but the problem with being unable to store favourites correctly has drove me daft. I have got the Eurovox max v set up as well. If you put an ax cable from the loop out connector on ex7000 into RF in on max v then connect max v via scart to telly you can use both receivers. You can record 1 cable channel on ex7000 whilst watching another cable channel on max v all through one cable feed without a splitter. I have compared the normal channels from both receivers on split screen of a 50" Panasonic set at 1080i resolution and can see no differance in quality between them on non HD channels. I will definately be keeping my max v until a firmware upgrade addresses the favs problem.
