    eurox 5100 pvr.

i have the above box and recently the box has been updating codes on a regular basis(like others on here). The problem i got is that i have lost the output from the tv scart plug. i can change the scart to the vcr slot and it works fine. i have tried a different scart lead but still the same problem. could anyone shed any light on this problem for me.

sounds like a problem in the box, if the vcr is working why worry unless you need more than one scart connection in which case you can buy a splitter for scarts which connsists of a scart plug running on a short lead to a box which can have two or more scart sockets.

if i run it on the tv scart i can`t get rgb picture which seems a bit better than normal. the menus definitely look smoother to look at.

i plug my av sender in my vcr scart socket to send the signal to a lcd tv and i think i get a really good picture from it. obviously it does not solve your problem,
if you have tried different leads then it definably sounds that there is some sort of problem within in the box, it could be simply a dry joint where the socket connects to the board could try to take to somebody that repairs set top boxes.

Not sure if this will be any help -- I nicked it from a previous post..............

This is the sequence to do a factory default reset on your box without being able to see whats happening on the TV screen.
            ================================================== ==================================================
with your box connected to TV as normal
switch your box on and make sure you point the control at the box
very carefully enter the following sequence

            1004
            menu
            right,right,right (arrow keys)
            down,down (arrow keys)
            OK
            1004
            down
            OK,OK,OK

wait a few minutes whilst box resets itself and hopefully you will get a distorted picture showing that your scart is working again.
then reflash with the correct firmware
            .
            .
WHAT DO I THINK OF CAPITAL PUNISHMENT??
            .
            CAPITAL !!
            .
            BRING IT BACK...............
            .
            .

Well did a factory reset (not using the button presses above). didn`t have to reflash firmware just did a scan and scart working ok now.

              thanks
