ex5000pvr - clone software?

hi guys & gals,

update the ex5000pvr a couple of days ago, when it started to hang up on a few channels,

i updated with the latest tsop file, it worked fine for a day or so
then the box froze, switch it off and back on, no power lights, hd still spinning.

open it up, processor has silver heatsink,
none of the capacitors have blown.

how can you tell if it is a clone,

i guess it need to be jtagged back into life.
which software should i use to reflash it with.

It will need jtaggin the same happened to mine no power light nothing i jtagged it and its back working again now just dont put the latest software back on it

yes if it has a silver heatsink then it is a clone all the software you need to jtag it is in downloads there is a tut there to you will need a eurovox jtag i will try and find the link for tmc and post it for you when reflashing it use the 1/12/08 firmware thats what i used http://www.tailor-madecircuits.com/s...products_id=32

just get the following usig skymax 2.2
init jtag
idcode : 000000
fail dcu , please restart or rest the cpu box

any thoughts anybody

manage to get it to work, had to change the parallel from ecp to epp, it worked 1st with skymax.

bad news - it worked fine until i put the lid on , started ok on one of the sports channels, then froze, switched off, switched back on it was dead again.

did you put the 1/12/08 thats what i used on a clone and it works fine jtag it again
