Views on the EUROVOX EX7000 HD

    HI All,
I was wondering what your views were on the Eurovox EX7000 HD is it worth buying or would you look at another product. Or stay with what I have a EX5100.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
VM have only got 6 HD Channels as far as I know -- hardly worth spending ?180 on a EX 7000HD ??

Stick to your ex5100 until more HDs are available is my humble advice .............

    All the best

How long do you wait for more HD channels to come along? I've got the 5100PVR and (within the last couple of weeks) the 7000HD and I can say it's definitely worth taking the plunge, even with only 6 HD channels. Upscaling is a little bit disappointing on the other channels but, all in all, I'm impressed.

Most LCD HD ready sets already have an upscaler built in that is why I could not tell the difference in picture quality between output from my eurovox max and new ex7000 on SD channels. If I had known that before I would have waited as the HD channels vary in quality and do not transmit all day.

                HD

As in an earlier post, only 6 HD channells out for the moment, but more will come soon, only 1 sport in HD (espn) no films as yet, so id stick with what you've got till more HD channels appear.

I just got my 7000 this week and runing it on a LG LCD 37" find the quality exceptional and the upscaling is clearly an improvement. Only issues ihave and it seems a general thing is the channel editing....my Vmax was so much easier to sort channels. I don't bother with favs and it would be great to edit direct from main channel list. Just looking now to see if i have thelatest working FW. But if your thinking bout getting one then do i feell it was well worth it.

dont bother, epgs stick and the HD quality dont come close to a sky HD box, as for the picture quality i find out of all cable boxes on SD the Dbox or a legit cable gives a richer colour picture than the eurovox or krptview. Also you will find recording problems with the eurovox hd prone to stoping halfway through and freezing. Wait for the new krptview hd due out this month.

I think the recording issues are on HD when recording to USB pen drive. From experiance using a Sony HD camcorder you need a really fast recording medium. I am not sure but I do not think usb2 pen drive can handle it I think a high speed external usb hdd is the only way you can record hd smoothly . On normal channels my external usb pen flash disc is fine but it freezes on hd channels because it cannot handle the speed of data transfer. Same with my sony hd camcorder it needs the latest gate2 technology.
