Sorry for asking a silly question, but it's on my mind now so I have to ask.
I have an EX7000 and subscribe to the XL package / broadband, I use the Eurovox upstairs as my 2nd box for the odd film and sport.
Around 2 weeks a go all service's died for 40 mins and only the TV came back, no interactive or braodband. With numerous phone calls, I got the answer that they were upgrading the hubs and working on the network.
This week an engineer came out and within minutes of him making a call, all services came online (I assume he did some work outside) but I was at work and my wife didn't observe what he did. The engineer said that they had attached a filter to the box at the end of the street to check for noise on the line (this would auto block services because of dodgy box's or faulty splitters) He said that a box near by may have knocked my service's out and they come to the house to check for none virgin hardware. I was silly enough to leave the splitter upstairs attached and can only assume that it may have caused this but I am confused to why the interactive downstairs didn't work.
My question is, is there any truth in filter detection; am I one of the first to witness them cracking down these box's?
