eurovox max v power board

can some body help please
i have a eurovox maxv 2008 it needs power board replacing.
brought one off e bay when fitting the lead connecction is wider than the orignal.were it plugs on to the multi plug.managed to conect it .but when power on no red light. ie no power . put old boarb back in and power up and got a red light ie power getting to board. any body got advice for me please.
