eurovox 5100 hard drive pls help

hi can some one pls help, ive got the blue eurovox ex 5100 which is mint. i want to record some movies, so ive bought a seagate 120gb ide/ata/pata 2.5" hard drive model number st9120822a as recomended from someone from this site. iam having so much trouble trying to get this to work. when i put the hard drive in the slot when the power is off, the eurovox will then not power up it just stays on stand by. but if i put in the hard drive while the cable is on, the cable works fine, but when i try to record it says hard drive full, can anyone help, and iam i doing something wrong. thanks phil.

dont panic m8,just re-load it and try again,i have two of these and found the same problem at first,just try,and also when you get it working dont fill it to much otherwise they freeze.
