    Dead Eurovox EX1000 SL

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. I've been reading all your helpful advise and was wondering if you could maybe help me.

I brought a new eurovox ex1000 sl from a seller on ebay who had sold tons of these boxes, think it was about ?90 including delivery.

Recieved and installed fine, got about 260 channels and all was fine, sometimes channels started getting scrambled but rescanning always fixed that.

Brought the box at the end of July, and on saturday 31st October, I rescanned and all was fine. Powered down using the energy saver thing I recieved from e-on as I have been doing for weeks. Came to switch tv and box on, on sunday night and its completly dead. No blue light, no red light.

I've read up on the net, that maybe its cloned or needs jtagging, but I'm not able to jtag myself and dont know of anyone who could do this. A friend of mine who lives a mile away has had one of these for over a year and has had no problems, although she brought from elsewhere.

Tried contacting seller but had no response and as the auction was removed from ebay, and also says on the bottom, no refunds, no warrenty I would assume I wont be recieving a reply. So I'm guessing I'm left with a used ?90s worth of broken box?

I'm thinking of buying a Eurovox EX5100 PVR from a site that offers a warrenty, as I'm new to all this I was jsut wondering if anyone could offer any advise on the best path to follow or if this would be the best box for me to buy? Or any other advise?

    Thanks in advance.

        Hi Mabby
Got the box this morning and had to replace a bad cap and a bad IC on psu board what needed replacing, your box is genuine by the way, just 2 faulty components on psu and all is ok now and up and running again, will post it back on to you Saturday 7 Nov.

This wasn't a jtag job, purly down to 2 blown components on the psu which I have replaced.
