eurovox dodgy recording

i have a eurovox 5000 pvr.
sometimes it records and other times it doesn`t.
if it does it won`t play back.
so i am thinking of purchasing a standard hdd disk recorder and connecting it to my eurovox and using that to record.
or should i simply buy another more stable box with pvr capabilities.

Hello, ive got the same problem, so has a friend of mine. I asked this question on amother forum and was told its the hard drive thats the problem, and to buy another from the likes of flee bay and it'll be fine. Ive not botherd yet sorry. Please let me know if to works. Thanks
