ex1100 no channels :(

Hi,

Read some other post's and I think I know what I've done I plugged it straight in and flashed the firmware before anything then tryed scan is this a problem? And how much damage have I done to my box ? can it be sorted?

Hi m8 welcome to the forum

what you have done looks ok did you enter the symbol rate for your area then do a deep scan

used the 6887 symbol rate on a deep scan and just come up failed Im in swindon from what I've read thats the right one...

So there's no worry that I didnt scan before flashing?

I have checked the cables and the other boxes in the house are still fine and my mate eurovox 1100 still working fine which I setup no hassle! typical but I did scan on that before flashing..

Next plan is to take it down stairs plug it in where his ex1100 is and see if that solve's it unless any other ideas

yes remove all the splitters and use a direct feed straight to the box then deep scan

1 step ahead just plugged it in downstair's where my mates ex1100 is and its finding channels

I guess now I bring it back upstairs when its found them all and see if it can display the channels it not theres a fault somewhere with one of the wire's....

I know the splitter downstairs going to the normal v box is working fine for that box but then ive got a 10 m cable from the otherside to then connect to my box... Am I right and feel I should be ashamed for getting the cheapest 10m cable from ebay

Ill bring it back upstairs check if it displays the channels. If not ill use one of the short spare cables ive got and connect that to the side of the splitter I currently use then see if that work's. If that does then its the 10m cable isnt good enough or is to long. If still doesnt work then its the splitter on that side of the cable at fault.

Just looked at boosters are they really supposed be ?30 :O should one be put right at the start of the run or just before my 10m run?

found all channels now i recommend every deep scans twice i found 300 extra channels on the same baud rate....

yes ?30 sounds about right i dont use one but i would put it at the start ,did you do a factory reset delete all channels b4 you did a deep scan

Yeh i did that all channels working now took it up stairs and its working to!!!! Guess it just wont find channels when its on the massive cable run but it will play them if it knows where its looking!

So happy I dont need buy a booster

I am also using a projector on a 84" screen I expected SD to be a crap picture but it look as good as some of the hd movies I watch its amazing!

apart from the menu screens whats with them the text is so blocky even on my mates 42" where they designed for 21" tv's?

one of the channels i found said im using a illegal box can they really tell or just set that channel up and set there boxes up to ignore it? and just trying put the frighteners on me

Thanks noticed the optical out to my surround sound in pro logic 2 mode is giving me only my front speakers had to put it on matrix to use all speakers

Guess it doesnt work with pro logic ill have to see how I get on with it

Some of the channels are abit blocky serves me right for using a 84" screen I guess.. HD box is in the future I guess haha

Hi i have a eurovox ex 1100 usb.The light on the front as stopped working (bluelight)but the box it's self is working fine. ive lost 1 channel,any ideas how to get the light back on
