    Newbie without a clue

Hi all. I have been browsing through the forum for the last couple of days trying to find information on the eurovox boxes and if it would be worth buying 1.
The problem is, I dont understand fully what you need to use the box to its 'full potential'. I have been told I need a certain media provider putting information into my house but dont understand if that needs to be a phone line, broadband or cable TV?
At the moment I am with BT and using a sky box with free channels, however I am getting fed up with getting messages come up saying i need a new card, hence the look into this.
    Any help would be great.
    Cheers
