Can usb do this?

Hi all,

Had ex1100sl about a week, well chuffed, did all the flashing stuff - ended up using 25th spet update to aviod card in out etc.

Now, what I would like to do with it is use the usb port direct to the pc, or maybe a network drive, has anyone tried this? Could it work? Or am I just trying to over complicate it?

I got this box and it's not possable, the firmware would need too be able too deal with that, it can search for a usb drive or external drive that's it ,out of curiosity what's your reason for wanting to do so??

Will maybe look into a network drive, thinking was to use the record button to stream one channel to the pc while being able to watch another.

but how are you going to that with just a single tuner?

does the ex1100 only have a single tuner? it will record 1 chanel while watching another.

are you sure of that? i have the 7000, and although different box the principle is the same - 1 tuner-1 channel

Just been having a play, and you are right, only one tuner, you can change channel when recording but only to other channels on the same band, eg you can record bbc1 and watch another bbc channel at the same time, so looks like I am in the market for a second box!!!
