Serious error with new flash for ex7000hd

Hi, Ive flashed my ex7000 with the latest dec 3rd flash and it works great however. My bro has tried to flash his ex7000 and now it locks up straight after switch on. The display reads " hannel m" and its not possible to enter the menu or anything. The TV screen just says "invalid data".
Is there a way to reflash the ex7000 without entering the menu screen ie through a null modem lead etc or is this box knackered??? Pleeeeaaaase help.
    Thanks

connect your box to your pc with a null modem cable , run stbm and click add scroll to where you have saved the flash and click to load it click to highlight it then click send

          Sijacko,
How can it be a serious error if yours is ok.
Maybe "your brother" has cocked it up.
Tell him to turn the box off at the back, connect the usb pen (with the new firmware on it) then turn the box back on.
If that doesn't work. remove the firmware off the pen and download it again.

My box came up with the same invalid data my friend,,,,
It does this before you run the factory reset after reading the flash and first coming on,,,,
Are you sure you did a factory reset after installing the flash

Hiya, Im his brother, I dont think Ive cocked it up, but you never know. Thing is, I cant do a factory reset 'cause there is no control available, ie I cant get to the menu. Have tried re downloading the new software, and even reloading the old software, but it goes to the same point, and says invalid data on the screen.

Just downloaded STBM, used the null modem cable, added the scroll(flash.tbm) to the stbm, but nothing happens. It doesent seem to see the box, and hangs in the ''waiting'' position, with the bar not moving. Any thoughts folks?

Turns out I wasnt the only one with this freeze up issue. Symptom is that the box freezes BEFORE you get the chance to factory reset. Seems that the solution is to press the arrow up around the time that the boot ends, but before the box freezes. This has allowed me to then factory reset etc. I got this tip on another of todays threads on this site.
