    Eurovox 6000 software fault

Hi, don't know if anyone has come across the same as myself, but on several of these particular model boxes I have experienced a problem with selecting channels. It occurs when moving through the favorites menu; all of a sudden next to most channels it shows the message "No Channel" and then when selecting a channel like sly sorts 1 it defaults back to British Eurosport. Then when selecting other channels it defaults to totally different ones. I have experienced this with both sets of available software and this problem has now occurred on about 4 boxes. On one of the boxes this keeps on reocurring after a little while. I have used the RS232 and usb methods to download the software onto them and it has happened with boxes flashed from both methods. The only way to get the box selecting the correct channel again has been to scan channels again(mainly 1 frequency iwith a manual scan.)
While I agree with earlier posts about this being an excellent box, I must admit this problem is starting to annoy me a little. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
    (Sorry about length of post)

Hi Alex, yes I have tried the latest software release and have got exactly the same thing. It appears that as you go through menu you somehow go too fast for the box to handle and then it gives you totally different channels to the one you choose. It is proving to be a bit embarrassing when demo-ing the box.

Regarding the software issue I first posted to start this thread, I have found the cause and remedy to the problem I was experiencing.

The problem was occurring in the favourites menus after I had sorted the main channel list of all 250 odd channels into alphabetical order. After sorting them alphabetically and then going back into favourites when selecting channels quickly there becomes only a couple of channels that will select from each category (and not the correct ones you attempt to select). This is remedied by accessing the main channel list again and resorting them so that they are sorted numerically with a numerical value at the left hand side of the channel name.

Now that I have found out it is this simple to avoid the problem I only have the highest praise for the performance of this model, in my opinion the best of the Eurovox models so far.

So in brief it was me being a bit of a t**t by changing the main channel list arrangement. Thanks to eveyone that replied with suggestions as to the problem.

                Good to hear.

The EX6000 autosorts the channels (not to a VM line up) but into categories. By pressing the fav button this should have brought up the correct cats for you.

The sorting is not 100% but is close enough in most areas.
