OK getting there now. So by removing the splitter your problem TPs, (or more?), have now jumped up to 96%. So it looks like the splitter was the problem or it was not a splitter but an attenuated tap, (does it says anything about Db on it).

Try putting the splitter back on, but put the coax link from splitter to TV into where you had the BB. However if you have all channels and are happy with it then a high TP reading may be fine over your cable run.

If you do have problems you can use a 9 to 12 Db attenuator after the splitter. But as said if you put that particular splitter back on that will cause you the same trouble again.

        Getting lost too

Bring the box in the garden room back to the main feed and check your problem TP/channels there, (sorry I thought you had done this previously). Let us know what you get there. It still looks like a cable problem

No problem. Try what I said in post No. 14 on the first page. Re term the cable with new f type plugs. If the problem persists run a test cable as said and see what results you get.

I am sorry but it looks like a cable fault to me. The high signal readings may be brought down with an attenuator if they cause a problem.

Please let us know how you get on.

Satsmo.. Many thanks for the time you have taken to help me.

I will do what you have advised over the next few days.

I know that the cable running to the garden room has been cut halfway and then put together using connectors. Could you recommend anything else that i could use here as this may be an isssue.

You mentioned attenuator. What type would you recommend?

Thank you very much for your time and effort on this matter!

The cable is your problem as said throughout the thread. Especially as you have now indicated that there is a join in it. If you can access where the cable joint is made replace it with two F type connectors and an F type coupler.

You will find cheap connectors here that will do what you require Coaxial Cable Accessories for satellite and cable TV . This link is just an example of where to buy from as you can get them at Maplins, B&Q, etc but they will be dearer.

Best thing to do would be replace the entire run of cable but see what results you get from sorting out the joint in the existing cable. When you have finished put a 75 Ohm terminator at one end of the cable, (you can also get that for pennies in the link above) and check with a multimeter.
