why are some people talking about firmware?

i read some posts here and alot of them saying "i put firmware and it works like a charm" doesnt nagra 3 affect them?, i live in leeds and all my channels are gone except for bbc1 2 itv ch4 ch5. wat the hel are they talking about? am i missing something here? have you guys found out a way to get the channels back(skysprts 1, 2 ,3 etc)

leeds is the trial area for nag 3 the boxes there r ~~~~ed m8, its not been rolled out anywhere else yet so the posts u are on about r peeps getting there boxes going in areas that havnt been hit by nag3 yet
