how to read the eurovox ex5000 pvr hard drive

has anybody had any success in reading the hard drive in windows ? i personally have had limited success where i connected the hd to my pc and tried to scan the drive for deleted files or a filesystem. i managed to scan the drive and recover around 60 mpeg files to my pc, although i didnt have much luck in playing any. i put this down to the fact i only did a quick scan and NOT thorough and have not tried since.......as far as i can tell the drive either uses a new as yet unknown filesystem or raw unformatted.

A hard drive will be unreadable to windows once used in the box unless formatted after use. I think the eurovox changes something in the hard drive leaving windows unable to read it unless formatted
