Eurovox max V help

I am new to this game and need help. I have been given a Eurovox max V. Having plugged the unit in I get message " no signal" is there anyway of checking if the feed to the house is live or do I have some setting up to do.

if you have a box supplied by vm try that if you get any channels then the feed is live you can also put the feed into your tv and do a search if you find channels then its ok

I have put the feed into the TV, it seems to find the channels which show the Virgin Analog channel ended.

Are you putting it in the right input looking from the front its the one on the far right hand side and have you done a scan.

I have checked conection and now done a scan. the scan found the channels. I can choose any channel but do not get a picture.

It looks like you need to update to later 2008 firmware. You will need a rs232 null modem cable and you can download firmware from this site. Look in the red stickys at top of page when you click on eurovox forum page. They are called Eurovox receivers and firmware and cables required to flash eurovox. Full instructions how to do it can be found there.

whilst you are waiting for a serial cable download this http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-v1-2-a-15751/ then on the max-v goto, Menu> language settings> OK> 1968> 1968 scroll left/right to the nagravision part and put the codes in from the program.
that will get it working untill you get a cable to put the latest fw on it.

Unfortunatly the PC Im using for now is unable to connect to sites like Rapid share. (work system), any other way of getting new firmware.

as bigalz said, check the red stickies. You'll want the eurovox v (black) fmw

Connect ev to pc, use the frimware, press download... if works you'll know.

Once finished...

Do a factory default reset on ev and then a deep scan

my eurovox stopped working when virgin sent out new cards to all in Leeds. Hope there will be a fix soon.

Dont hold your breath on that one because it very unlikely there will ever be a fix sadly,something had to be done from the cable suppliers viewpoint or they would have gone out of business eventually, and now its happening ...there are some great deals available from Virgin at the moment,take advantage while they are here ....
