Just bought a new EX1100 box

    Hi,

Just brought a new box and I am trying to flash it using the latest firmware in the downloads section. Two problems so far:

    1. Even though the USB status on the box suggests 'usb plug in', the screen does not seem to give me the option to 'Upgrade by USB' - this seems to be greyed out.

    2. I did a powerscan and the box did not pickup any channels, even though the virgin box picks up some channels. Do I need to put in any frequency information? or is this done automtically.

    Cheers

2 little mistakes I made on my 1st attempt on the usb you might want to consider:
make sure the file is in the root of the usb and not in a folder, also make sure the file is unrar'd so it shows the .abs file extension.
Hope this helps a little bit

Hmmm, not exactly sure now then mate. The only other thing I can think of trying is switch it off, then plug in the USB, switch back on and hopefully after it has started you should get a little blue message in the middle of the screen saying USB Found.
            Hope this works for you.

might have to try another USB. It looks like the box is not giving the option to download by USB! and record or other related USB activities

                Thanks a lot.

                Got it all working now.

                1. USB got it working by just trying another usb stick (a newer one!)

                2. Did a deep scan, picked up no channels(no signal indicated), switched it off and turned it back on everything works!!

                Thanks

                Adi
